Weekend Fun

Well this weekend started out just like any other weekend. I typically go up to play in a D&D game at Andy's apartment. Well, we had kinda completed a mission to go and find this lost shipment of cargo. We found it killed some goblins and some bigger monsters, and some kinda undead stuff on the way back towards town. Once in town we stayed in this run down inn. Food wasn't bad ect. Well we woke up and continued to turn in the stuff that we were sent to return and they wanted to inspect us to make sure we hadn't stolen anything. Seriously the crap they sent us to retrieve wouldn't be worth stealing. We were set up by someone however for many different things were found on are persons. I dumped my bag of holding and axes came flying out. Hmm we got set up by someone fucking humans. Well they wanted to arrest us and not pay us mind you stealing is a death sentence especially since we aren't human in this bloody human town. His guards came running about 8 of them towards the door and I figured I'm not up for this kinda crap so I through a fireball at all of them. Hmm burning his office was kinda fun. His guards were no match for a group of traveling adventurers we quickly handled them. I stuck my bigsby's icy grasp on him just to make sure he couldn't escape. We got paid, but he also wanted to have us arrested. Now we are currently avoiding police while trying to figure out who might have set us up.

I spent the night at Andy & Jules. Cause I wanted to play in Andy's one shot on Saturday. Something to do with a dark Raven Loft setting which I always enjoy. I decided to try and play test the new Barbarian test class on Blizzard's website. I finished making my character before I went to sleep on the couch. Woke up around noon the next day thought we were going to be going to lunch after I woke up and jumped in the shower but the others from Wittenberg were running behind. Lunch ended up around 1:30 but it was delicious. I had Gnocchi which not to many places make a good gnocchi. Then we proceeded to the gaming shop and a comic shop owned by the same people across the street from each other. It was kinda cool I've been looking for a mini for Jules campaign since I ordered one off a website and never received it. I spent some time looking then asked if someone had seen a dwarf mage. Luckily enough Kat a girl I had just met who was doing a much better job looking through them had and found it for me. I also bought a elf archer cause I wanted to try and play a ranger in whatever campaign maybe next. We finished up there and headed to Lionel's to get are geek gaming on lol. We were put another hour or so behind cause some of us didn't pregen are character before arriving to play. I hadn't named mine so Kat decided he would be Wog. I chose this over several other suggestions that were just questionable to begin with.

Wog use to be Capt. Wog served in the military for 3.5 years after which he started hanging around with this artificer who just happened to be able to fix and upgrade Wog as needed. It was a good relationship and paid well on both ends. We seemed to have gather a group of adventurers and were travelling towards are next destination when we were suddenly enveloped in a mist/fog. Thick as you can imagine couldn't see much in front of us I think we just took a wrong turn on the road. The fog led us to and old decrepit looking building. One of are companions noticed a sign on the ground that read Birchcroft Sanitarium.

The artificer wanted to see if he could fix the gate so I promptly knocked it off its hinges, we were immediately attacked by dead and decaying plant life. We spent 12 hours of gaming goodness exploring the Brichcroft Sanitarium and discovering what happened through some more then interesting devices. As we entered the building cause we assumed going through the fog would just lead us back to this point. We found ourselves in a lobby, with a young woman sitting behind a desk.

Apparently we had travelled back in time about 30 years. But we hadn't really it was just some kinda time dilation as we were flickering between a burnt building and a nice lobby. As we began talking to her we described what was going on I think she thought we were crazy and sent for guards. As I was about to swing my axe seeing trouble coming I was frozen in place. She turned into a large mound of insects and three disgusting pieces of bone appeared. Are mage set up a barrier to block them with fire so we could handle the insects. Another large creature appeared from behind scaring my artificer friend but there was nothing I could do being frozen. He put up an acid wall but the creature attacked through it. The mage became frozen and his wall dissipated. The cleric put pieces of stone to block there path but they came through the walls. Fighting in a cramped space made thing difficult for the mage but the warlock, Kat was quite happy to siphon the life from her friends almost obliterating the mound of insects in one shot. The fight concluded with the casters taking care of the mound of insects as my greataxe didn't do much as I swung through it.

We moved on into the institution trying to find some clues as to what was going on. We learned from several books there we two doctors working in this place. A Dr. Illhousen who seemed to have perfected talking to people and helping them through there mental trauma. The second was a Dr. Wellsby who treated his patients with phychotropic drugs that in my opinion would have messed with there minds. The dwarven cleric seemed to think smashing an empty bottle against a wall would be interesting but what he actually found was that by doing so one could see into the past for a split second. This helped quite a bit with discovering what really happened. We continued to investigate the building myself and the artificer. He's got a good eye for clues, found several signs that something wasn't quite right in the institution. Scraps of paper one of which had said that mercenaries from are warlocks country were dispatched to this place, words scratched into the ceiling with fingernails, among other things. These undead things seem to be creeping him out slightly though. As we were searching each of the offices we discovered a trap door in a corner under a plant. It was dark below but seeing as the stairs going up were destroyed as well as unsafe cause they looked to be burned.

Down we travelled into the darkness. We lit several sconces to provide light. The bottles showed us a child with a huge hole bored into his head. He was very unhappy with his mother for sending him to this place. It appeared someone was experimenting on brains of these poor people trapped in time. As we found a supply closet we were attacked. Apparently the mercenaries didn't survive. There undead bodies had awoke and were attacking us. Five of these undead grouped together as I charged into them swinging my deadly axe and ranging forth as a Hawk. Sadly the mage rained fire upon fire in the area I chose to attack and the enemies as well as myself were blown against a wall on the other side of the room. That magic stuff hurts. I did find the paladin facing off with one of these monsters on the other side of the room behind a pillar though explains where he was lol. The fire left the enemy dazed thankfully as I could knock him prone with my hawk rage. I widdled down what was left after the storm of fire and defeated the enemy leader.

We found several other interesting devices which Dr. Wellsby used in his research. A chair which deafened the mage and my training in the military I yelled and smacked him back to his senses. An operating room where apparently they had held the good Dr. Illhoussen to the table to drill into his skull. This Dr. Wallsby was a monster. Last we found the cell from which Dr. Illhoussen escaped ruining Dr. Wellsby's plans. That much I gather so far, as we were leaving the room and intern a lovely young woman was standing at the end of the path next to a wall. She said the Dr. Will see you now.

At this point I promptly turned off the lights in the room we were playing in scaring several other players as this was a horror game it was fitting. The Dr. explained kind of what happened after I mentioned the name Illhoussen and ruining his plans. One of the nurses sprayed a gas at us as I began to charge after the Dr. It didn't seem to have much affect though. The interns blocked the door so we could not enter. I was fine with this as I blasted all those enemy's standing to close to me. The mage dropped a ball of fire behind them so if they didn't want to let me in then they could burn for all I cared. The paladin called forth his god to grant us great powers, and we laid to waste these undead enemies. As I swung my great axe to destroy the Dr. he proved to be more nimble then I had expected dodging my attack. Though the warrior stepped up and finished him off. We found ourselves outside. Was it all just a dream or did it really happen.

On Sunday the Bengals were stomped yet again, I went and played tennis with a group of people from my friend Ash's church. It was a lot of fun and we went to IHOP after I had to try the pumpkin pancakes. Ash wanted to see the movie Max Payne, and after showing me the preview. I decided to go and watch it after going home and walking the dog I returned to the theatre and watched the movie. It was alright don't get me wrong it just wasn't that great of a movie. Wow that was a long post I'll just stop now.
